Lee Family History

I am trying to trace details of my Dad's family (Lee) who lived in Hapton in the 19th Century. I have records of them living in Mill Hill Farm and also statements in the family history saying they lived at Green Nook Farm. The family lived in Mill Hill farm at the start of the 19th Century – father Edward, mother Betty (nee Clegg I think) and children Edward, Richard and Elizabeth born in the early part of the century. Edward junior continued to live in the farm until his death but Richard (my great great grandfather) married Margaret Ingham (of Altham Hall) and they bore 5 sons who set up successfully in the cotton mills. The daughter Elizabeth married a neighbouring farmer called Collinge.

The link to Green Nook farm is interesting as I have handwritten notes from my grandfather saying it is significant in the family history but can find no record of any of them living there!

I would be grateful for any information about the family or the places they lived.

I live in Cumbria and am in my 50’s, have a full time job working in the nuclear industry. I have 3 grown up children and have an interest in family history. My Dad’s family originate from Hapton living at Mill Hill Farm and Green Nook farm. I would be interested in any information about the Lee family who lived in the Hapton area.
